Kuk’io Golf Club | Hawaii Portfolio

Hamill Creek Timber Homes was proud and honored to be involved with and provide the timber frame structure for this large 12,000 square foot timber frame designed by de Reus Architects who were recognized by AIA Honolulu with the 2008 award of excellence for this project and also by AIA North West and Pacific Region with a 2009 Citation Award.

Reminiscent of ancient Hawaiian villages, this club was designed using a cluster of five individual timber frame buildings connected with gardens and walkways. The massive pole timber frame construction combined with the grass thatched roof and irregular natural shape of the native Ohia wood gives a feeling of bygone days, and a connection to the architecture of ancient Polynesian culture.
