Meadow Creek
Hamill Creek Timberwrights Inc is located in Meadow Creek, in the beautiful Lardeau Valley of southwestern British Columbia. This secluded valley is surrounded by the timbered mountain sides and spectacular glaciers of the Purcell Mountain range. Wildlife abound in this pristine setting. Less than three hours drive from the border British Columbia shares with Washington State and Idaho, visiting our facilities is a viable and pleasure experience for prospective clients from those states.
Situated between the head of Kootenay Lake and the bottom of Duncan Lake, this quiet wilderness area is a well kept secret of out door enthusiasts. Both lakes boast great fishing. Meadow Creek is also home to a Kokanee spawning channel, where every August and September these ‘red fish’ return to complete their circle of life.
The Lardeau Valley is a gateway for back country hikers heading out on the spectacular mountain trails which include Jumbo Pass, Monica Meadows, Macbeth Glacier, the Earl Grey Trail and the very accessible Fry Creek Trail.
There are campsites in the surround area, both serviced and un-serviced which provide outdoor recreation for local and visiting families.
In the winter three snocat ski operators, who make Meadow Creek their headquarters, cater to skiers seeking the ultimate in powder experience.
If you are driving up to Meadow Creek from the City of Nelson, along Kootenay Lake, Ainsworth Hot Springs makes a refreshing stop. The nearby Village of Kaslo with its breath taking location and heritage buildings is also well worth a visit.
