Living
and working in this incredibly beautiful part of the
world gives us a connection to the land and it’s forests. This is at the heart of our inspiration and it
is echoed in the craftsmanship that goes into each of
our unique timber frame homes.

Our Clients come to us for more than just a
unique home;
it is to capture the essence of the
lifestyle that goes
along with a Hamill Creek Timberframe Home.
How it all began… Just
a few miles from our current site, our founder Dwight Smith worked as a
carpenter on his first timber frame home. The traditional skills and
craftsmanship of timberframing instantly intrigued Dwight. He found
that this ancient art was more then just a different way of building;
it was a way of life.
Dwight and his wife Debbie started Hamill Creek
Timberwrights in 1989. Business began in a small
workshop beside their home in Hamill Creek, British
Columbia with the help of a few employees. Many
years of hard work has since resulted in a move to a
new, much larger facility in nearby Meadow Creek,
providing work for skilled craftsmen and creating
training opportunities for many local people.
Today,
we have grown into Hamill Creek Timber Frame Homes and employ nearly 45
people, becoming an important source of rural employment. Custom timber
frame home designers, wood engineers, craftspeople and sawmill staff -
our people are really our greatest asset. Their experience, skill and
timber frame expertise meld together to provide our clients with truly
unique homes that reflect their personalities and enhance their
lifestyles.
